About Our Courses

6 week throwing

The 6-week throwing course is limited to 5 people in order to provide you with sufficient tutor support. Generally, we start by focussing on the basic cylinder form, then progress through trimming bases and turning foot-rings, pulling handles and glazing, though content may vary depending on students' abilities. Participants should have some prior experience. For absolute beginners, have a look at our Private Throwing Tuition as a starting point.

6 week hand building

Our regular 6-week courses are open level. Students will be taken step-by-step through a range of hand-building and decoration techniques for a series of projects. Less experienced participants will be fully directed and supported throughout the course. Those with more experience can be more self-directed and choose their own path of study.

One-off workshops are aimed at complete beginners, but those with more experience are always welcome.
